Tiktok Trends - May 2024
Introducing "TikTok Trends 2024" – your source for staying ahead of the game on the latest TikTok crazes!
TikTok trends move fast, and if you're not quick, you'll miss out. But let's be real, keeping up with TikTok trends can be a hassle. That's where we come in.
Each week, we'll keep you updated on what's hot on TikTok (by spending way too much time scrolling). From trending hashtags to popular sounds and formats, we've got you covered!
Please note:
- Currently, our focus is primarily on TikTok, but we're exploring other networks. It's worth testing these trends across all platforms to see what resonates best with your audience.
- Trends are generally very short, which may concern you about not mentioning the product enough. However, the mistake would be to tack on promotional elements after the video. It's crucial that the video stays true to the trend, lasts only a few seconds, and captures the essence of the need your service addresses in a brief timeframe.
- Not all trends will be suitable for every brand. It will be up to you to choose the ones that seem most relevant to your message and goals.

Fully Conscious Baby
'Fully Conscious Baby' or 'The Four Seasons Orlando Baby' has taken the internet by storm in the past week. TikTok user and mom @sobrizzle shared a heartwarming home video where she asked her children and partner who wanted to go to the Four Seasons Orlando. To everyone's surprise, her young baby confidently raised her finger and exclaimed, "ME!" The video has now amassed 54.5 million views, with comments ranging from "That baby booked the trip" to "With pleasure, dearest mother, I would be delighted to embark on this Four Seasons Orlando trip." There's even a Capcut template available.

Get Up Here! Let's Dance
Back in 2012 at the Oscars, Ben Stiller and Emma Stone teamed up for a fun moment. They were there to present the Hugo Wins Visual Effects award and to add a bit of comic relief. The skit they did had Ben showing Emma the ropes of hosting an awards show since it was her first time. Emma really got into it, realizing she could sing and get everyone's attention or even pull someone from the crowd to dance. When she spotted Jonah Hill, she called him up to dance on stage, and it was hilarious. Then, in April, someone on TikTok paired the clip with A Bird’s Last Look (Jersey Remix), and it blew up with thousands of comments praising how effortlessly Emma delivered her lines.

Who They’re Actually Emailing
This TikTok trend flips the script on traditional corporate headshots. Instead of the usual professional, formally dressed poses, users pair a headshot labeled "who people think they're emailing" with a video showing their surprising and bold side, labeled "who they're actually emailing." The contrasting audio, switching from classical orchestral music to the rap track ‘SkeeYee’ by Sexyy Red, emphasizes the shift from expectations to reality.

King Charles Portrait Reveal
King Charles just dropped his first official portrait as King, and it's got everyone talking, especially in the British media. Some folks are saying it looks like a horror movie poster or way too red. Painted by Jonathan Yeo, the portrait shows King Charles against a textured red backdrop with a Monarch butterfly perched on his shoulder, symbolizing his transformation since the painting started in 2021. The unveiling, at Buckingham Palace, went viral on TikTok, sparking debates about whether it's supposed to look like Satan or if it's just an artsy choice. And the video of King Charles pulling the cloth off the painting? Classic! Now, it's become a CapCut template, so you can swap out the portrait with your own pic or vid, all set to some polite British applause in the background.

Can I Be Honest? Is This A Safe Place?
Ryan Gosling showed how important it is to have a place where you can speak honestly without judgment during an interview with W Magazine. With Margot Robbie by his side, Gosling faced a strange toy during a Barbie-themed interview. He didn't hold back, calling the toy "Beelzebub" and admitting he didn't like it at all. Now, on TikTok, people are using his words to share things they don't like in a safe space. It's a way for them to express their dislike, discuss an ick in a creative way.

I'm The Biggest Hater
This trend is for the passionate haters. If you've been following the rap-battle between Kendrick Lamar and Drake, you've probably heard Kendrick's track "Euphoria." The feud between the two artists has been ongoing since 2014 but heated up again in April. After Drake released a song mocking Kendrick's height and got no response, he dropped another track with AI imitating Tupac's voice, Kendrick's idol. This sparked Kendrick's response, now trending on TikTok. In his song, Kendrick lays it out: "It’s always been about love and hate, now let me say I’m the biggest hater." The audio provides the perfect backdrop for TikTok creators to express their deepest dislikes through explicit diss videos.

Let's F*cking Go? I Guess?
TikTok creators are all over this trend using a clip of Youtuber Cody Ko saying, "Let's f*cking go? I guess?" Their videos show moments where you'd expect excitement, but instead, there's hesitation or confusion. Adding some irony, these clips capture the humor of unexpected reactions to supposedly thrilling situations.
